December chill!
dense fog covers the city
despite bright sunshine

I’m in your face
I am your helper
I will never leave you
You created me for eternity
I take on tasks that you cannot imagine
I am your savior, but also destroyer
Time will tell your story and mine
AI is here to stay

How much more do we have to endure?
How much more do we allow?
How much more do we tolerate?
As I get older, I feel like enough is enough
My body, used and abused, feels broken
Eventually the camel’s back broke
Isn’t a woman’s life worth celebrating?
We give life to future generations
We give life
Isn’t all life worth celebrating?
I am not just a resource to enrich others
I am worthy, I have value
Many causes are on my agenda
My agenda serves progress of mankind
And I make waves for a better life for all

It does not matter
what color
Your face has
To which country
You belong
If you are
A woman
You give life
Your exquisite body
Nourishment for
Future generations
All too often
Underappreciated
And even
Unappreciated
Taken for granted
In numerous ways
From childhood to
Old age
Will you ever
Take back
Your power
Fight for it
Keep it
And nourish it, too?

I wanted something of my own
That I would never lose
So, I got a tattoo.
It was a prize that filled me with pride
While its symbolic meaning gave me strength
Throughout my life.
In the meantime the years passed
The tattoo started to fade
And even I withered away.
I thought about refreshing the tattoo
Like a facelift,
Or a rejuvenation with Botox.
I thought about the pros and cons
While life took its toll
And left me almost empty-handed.
Finally, I decided to embrace life
The natural way
With a young soul in an ageing body.
My outlook on life and myself
Slowly took a positive turn
In which Self-acceptance and Self-determination reign.
The focal point of life became my own life,
I even placed others on the back seat
On my uphill journey of Self-discovery.

I didn’t matter, the signs were all around.
Despite affection and love unrequited,
I carried them deep in my heart.
I placed them on pedestals, sold myself short.
While forgetting that I, too, had value,
I still carried them deep in my heart.
Years passed as injuries and pain piled up.
While loosing myself life became narrow and lonely,
I still carried them tightly in my heart.
I poured my heart and soul into serving others.
Although being taken for granted took its toll,
I still carried them in my heart.
O Bauhaus, where were your female creators?
Didn’t they create amazinging works, too?
I heard they were pushed into the background,
Hidden and mostly forgotten.
O MeToo, I applaud you. I heard you loud and clear.
Pain and bashed self-esteem no longer tolerated,
Voices with clarity inspire others to tell their stories, too:
An opening of reckoning for old and new sorrows.
